WORLD, Feb. 03 (YPA) – The British newspaper Financial Times revealed, on Monday, new details regarding US President Donald Trump’s proposal to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Arab countries.
The British newspaper quoted a source familiar with the thinking of the Israeli government as saying, “President Trump’s statements regarding the transfer of Gaza’s population were not surprising.”
The same source indicated that the proposal to relocate Gaza’s residents was not an idea that suddenly occurred to Trump, clarifying that “Israel” was aware that he would propose it.
The source noted that “Israel” and the United States are aligned and coordinating with each other.
Last week, President Trump proposed the idea of displacing the residents of the Gaza Strip, following more than 15 months of Israeli aggression on the Strip, which has turned it into a “devastated” land.
In recent days, US President Donald Trump reiterated his support for the idea of “transferring” Gaza’s population to neighboring countries, claiming that Egypt and Jordan, as potential destinations, are “safer.
