Sanaa strongly condemns US designation of Ansar Allah on list of foreign terrorist organizations

SANAA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Sanaa government on Thursday strongly condemned the U.S. move to reclassify the Ansar Allah group in Yemen as a “foreign terrorist organization.”

In a statement issued today, the ministry described U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision as an attack on the Yemeni people, who oppose the policies of the American administration and its domineering approach in the region.

The statement clarified that this classification is not limited to the group but targets the entire Yemeni population and its stance in support of justice, particularly its solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

The ministry further emphasized that this step reveals the extent of the current U.S. administration’s bias in favor of the Israeli occupying entity.

“Those who should be included on international terrorist lists are those whose hands are stained with the blood of civilians in Gaza, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and other countries,” the ministry said.

The ministry called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to condemn this classification, which will have negative repercussions on the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

It emphasized that this classification would only strengthen Sanaa’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause while continuing to defend Yemen against anyone who dares to threaten its sovereignty, security, or stability.
