Telecommunications companies resume services in Gaza

GAZA, Jan. 21 (YPA) – Palestine’s Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Economy, Abdel Razzaq Al-Natsheh, announced that the telecommunication companies begun to re-operate their services in the provinces of Rafah and North Gaza.

Al-Natsheh explained in a statement that technical teams intensively managed to repair the damage and ensure the restoration of communications and internet services as soon as possible.

He pointed out that these efforts aimed to alleviate the suffering of citizens and ensure the stability of vital services that were greatly affected during the crisis.

The minister warned of obstructing the arrival of technical teams to the northern provinces due to field conditions or procedures on the ground that may negatively threaten the continuity of internet services.

“The Ministry is working in full coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the continuity of services and enhance its infrastructure, in a way that guarantees the provision of sustainable and safe services to citizens,” he added.

The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip went into effect on Jan 19, after 471 days of genocidal war that the Zionist occupation army waged on the Strip, which left over 158,000 Palestinian dead and wounded, most of them children and women, as well as and more than 11,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and elderly people, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
