Shortage of fuel to cause imminent water disaster in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The Aden-based Water Corporation, which is taking over the coalition, announced on Monday an imminent disaster with stopping water service supplies to most areas within the next two days.

The corporation said in a statement that it was facing a severe crisis in providing fuel to operate the electric power generators that operate the water well fields and sewage pumps.

The statement confirmed that the water and sewage service supplies would be cut off within the next 48 hours due to the imminent shortage of fuel.

It added that some power generators were unable to continue operating due to their urgent need for life-saving maintenance.

The statement called on the coalition-affiliated Aden government to urgently intervene to provide sufficient quantities of fuel to ensure the continuity of water and sanitation services.
