Citizen assassinated in Azzan city of Shabwa

SHABWA, Jan. 16 (YPA) – A citizen was assassinated on Thursday by gunmen in Shabwa province, which is under the control of UAE-backed factions in southeastern Yemen.

Eyewitnesses reported that the victim identified as “Ali Lahmar Bawadah,” a man in his sixties, was fatally shot by gunmen on the main street in the city of Azzan in Mayfa’a district, and they fled to an unknown destination.

The motives behind Bawadah’s assassination were not disclosed by the witnesses, adding to the ongoing atmosphere of insecurity and disorder affecting multiple districts in Shabwa.
