STC militants target Sheikh Al-Jadani’s house in Abyan

ABYAN, Jan. 14 (YPA) – The house of Sheikh Ali Skeni Al-Jaadani, a tribal leader of the Al-Jaadana tribe in Abyan Governorate, came under attack by armed elements of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions during the past few hours.

Local sources province reported that the STC militants attacked the house of Sheikh Al-Jadani, the head of the sit-in committee demanding the release of the abducted officer, Major Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, in Zinjibar, and opened a barrage of gunfire, terrorizing women and children.

It was reported that Sheikh Al-Jaadani was not at home during the attack, and the assailants then moved on to search for him at the protest camp, aiming to put an end to the local demonstrations supporting the abducted and forcibly disappeared Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, who has been missing since mid-June.

This incident comes after the elders and leaders of the Al-Jaadana tribe rejected the establishment of a military camp for the STC factions on their land in the Lahmar area and its vicinity last Saturday.

They emphasized that their region does not face any conflicts or security problems that would justify the presence of armed factions.

Furthermore, First Lieutenant Ayman Al-Aqil Al-Jaadani had escaped an assassination attempt last week when gunmen from the STC factions, traveling in a military vehicle, targeted him in the heart of Aden city.
