Iranian worker killed in Iraq’s iron factory blast

GAGHDAD, Jan. 13 (YPA) – About 3 people were killed and injured on Monday as a result of an explosion in Erbil province, northern Iraq.

An Iraqi security source said that An Iranian worker was killed and two others were injured, one of whom was an Indian national, in the blast that targeted an iron factory in the Qushta district of Erbi city.

According to initial reports, the cause of the explosion was due to the presence of explosive fireworks residues in old pieces of iron.

Civil defense teams rushed to the site of the explosion in an attempt to control the fire and prevent it from causing major damage to the factory.
