Aerial footage documents airstrikes of STC sites in Abyan

ABYAN, Jan.10 (YPA) – Several armed elements loyal to the Islah Party targeted a military vehicle of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions in Mudiyah district of Abyan province, south of Yemen.

Southern media sources said the military vehicle, which is belonging to the “Second Support and Reinforcement Brigade” factions, was bombed in the Al-Baqira area of Wadi Omran, east of the district.

Pro-Islah activists circulated a video clip during the elements’ bombing of support and reinforcement sites in Mudiyah, after a series of explosive devices targeted the military vehicles.

Attacks against the STC elements expanded after the deployment of the Saudi-backed factions of Dare al-Waten forces in Abyan districts during the past year.

The armed elements obtained a large shipment of drones after seizing a truck loaded with drones in an armed ambush in the Badarat area, west of the Al-Wadiah Crossing, in collusion with the Islah leaders in Marib at the end of December 2022.

Earlier, Mohammed Al-Yadoumi, a senior Islah leader made a speech on the 32nd anniversary of the founding of Islah in mid-September 2022, called for restoring the situation in Shabwa to normal, to limit what he called tribal feuds to prevent sustainable disputes.

Al-Yadoumi considered the control of the UAE-funded factions over Shabwa and Abyan as an exclusion of Party, indicating that the STC’s monopoly over those areas would double and lead problems towards more chaos that would harm what he called the “comprehensive project.”
