Hebrew media reveals new details on death of three Israeli soldiers in Beit Hanoun

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 09 (YPA) – Hebrew media revealed new details on Thursday regarding the death of three Israeli soldiers on Wednesday in the Beit Hanoun area, located in the northern Gaza Strip.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the soldiers were killed in what is referred to as a “war of explosive devices,” after their tank was hit by a large improvised explosive device (IED).

The newspaper further stated that the two officers who were killed two days ago actually died from an IED explosion, rather than an anti-tank missile as originally thought.

Yedioth Ahronoth continued, stating that 10 officers and soldiers have been killed since the beginning of the Beit Hanoun operation, and one of those killed yesterday had been injured in previous Gaza battles and had returned to fight.

The paper also mentioned, “Since the start of the war, 17 soldiers are still in serious condition,” according to its claims.

The Israeli occupation military confirmed the death of the three soldiers in northern Gaza on Wednesday evening.

The announcement included the names of two recently killed soldiers: Sergeant Matityahu Ya’akov Perel and Sergeant Kanaoo Kasa, both from the 46th Battalion of the 401st Brigade.

The name of a third soldier killed in northern Gaza has not yet been released, pending notification of his family.

Furthermore, a correspondent from Reshet Kan confirmed that three other soldiers were injured in the same incident, including one in serious condition.

According to initial investigations, two tanks had driven over explosive devices in Beit Hanoun.
