SHABWA, Jan. 07 (YPA) – Armed confrontations broke out on Tuesday between UAE-backed factions and tribal gunmen in the eastern part of the oil-rich Shabwa province in southeast Yemen.
According to local sources, two members of the factions were killed and several others injured in the clashes that took place in the Dahar district near Hadramout Valley. However, the reasons behind the conflict remain unclear.
These events are part of the ongoing chaos that has plagued Shabwa’s districts, stemming from the absence of official state authorities since early 2016.
