HADRAMOUT, Jan. 04 (YPA) – The Brom Mayfa District in the Hadramout Governorate, eastern Yemen, witnessed a heavy shooting incident on Friday, resulting in the injury of three people in a popular market for selling “qat.”
Local sources reported that the incident occurred after a verbal altercation between gunmen loyal to the so-called “Tribal Alliance,” leading to the injuries of three.
The wounded were identified as Sabri Majaal, Ali Mohsen Ba Nareen, and Saber Balkhair Ba Matrooh.
The sources further stated that local residents rushed the injured to a health center for treatment, amid public anger and dissatisfaction due to the ongoing deterioration of security in the province since 2016.
Additionally, local dignitaries intervened to resolve the situation and cover the medical expenses for the injured-on behalf of local authorities. However, the incident highlights once again the growing security risks threatening stability and exacerbating the suffering of citizens in the southern and eastern areas controlled by the Saudi-led coalition.
