Israeli soldier accused of war crimes in Gaza smuggled out of Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Dec. 20 (YPA) – An Israeli soldier accused of war crimes in the Gaza Strip was smuggled out of Sri Lanka before being summoned for investigation, Hebrew media revealed.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, after the pro-Palestinian organization Hind Rajab (based in Belgium) discovered an Israeli soldier in regular service on Sri Lankan territory, according to the Israeli “12” channel.

The organization compared the photo the soldier uploaded on social media with the one he uploaded from his operational service in Gaza.

The Israeli soldier, whose name was not revealed, posted a video on social media boasting about killing a Palestinian citizen, the organization stated and appealed to Sri Lankan authorities for his arrest.

The Israeli authorities asked the soldier to leave Sri Lanka immediately for fear of arrest, but the organization did not explain how the soldier left Sri Lanka.
