Several gunmen killed in Shabwa clashes

SHABWA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – Tribal unprecedented clashes broke out in Usaylan district of Shabwa province on Thursday, leaving a number of dead and wounded on both sides.

Local sources said that the confrontations erupted between the tribes of Balharith and Al-Tahif in the district, which is under the control of the coalition forces.

The sources affirmed that drones and heavy gun mortars were used in the clashes.

The sources reported that there was military support from the Islah Party authorities for the Al-Tahif tribe from Marib, in exchange for support provided by UAE-backed al-Amaliqa forces to the Balharath tribe from Shabwa.

The clashes between the two tribes erupted over old blood feuds, the sources added.
