Russian citizen kidnapped by gunmen in Abyan

ABYAN, Dec. 18 (YPA) – A Russian citizen was kidnapped in Al-Mahfad district of Abyan governorate, which is under the control of the Emirati factions, local sources reported.

The sources said that tribal gunmen kidnapped a Russian citizen in the Al-Majalah area of ​​Al-Mahfad district, indicating that Abyan security was able to reach the gunmen and release him without mentioning his name or the reasons for his presence in those areas.

The sources explained that the tribal militants had taken the Russian citizen hostage, stressing that a number of militants had been arrested and subjected to investigation to determine the motives for the kidnapping.
