UN launches humanitarian distress appeal to collect donations to support Gaza

GENEVA, Dec. 11 (YPA) – The United Nations has launched a humanitarian appeal for over $4 billion to provide aid to three million people in occupied Palestinian territories for the next year.

The United Nations said in a statement issued on Wednesday that it needs to mobilize $4.07 billion by 2025 to meet the urgent needs of around three million people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including occupied Quds (Jerusalem).

The United Nations and its partners estimate that the actual needs in Gaza are much greater and that the amount required to meet them is no less than $6.6 billion.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) launched today an appeal for over $47 billion to provide necessary aid to about 190 million people in 2025, amid rising conflicts and climate change needs.
