About 65,000 to 75,000 people are estimated to remain in besieged north Gaza

GAZA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – The survival conditions are dwindling for the estimated 65,000 to 75,000 people still in northern Gaza Strip, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned on Thursday.

“Of the 91 attempts made by the United Nations to deliver aid to besieged northern Gaza between October 6 and November 25, the Israeli occupation refused to approve 82 attempts and obstructed 9 others,” the UNRWA said in a post on X.

On Wednesday, UNRWA confirmed that hunger in the Strip reached critical levels, with people searching for food scraps in weeks-old garbage.

“The situation is deteriorating rapidly with the onset of winter, and the survival of the people becomes impossible without urgent humanitarian aid,” it added, calling for an immediate ceasefire.”

In turn, the spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, said that the occupation army is preventing any humanitarian aid, ambulance equipment and civil defense equipment to enter into northern Gaza, affirming that the rain and water accumulating in the ponds pose a real threat to the residents.

The Israeli occupation in Gaza has killed at least 44,282 Palestinians and wounded 104,880 others since October 7, 2023.
