GAZA, Nov. 24 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) affirmed on Sunday that the food supplies entering the Gaza Strip do not meet 6 percent of the needs of its population.
The UNRWA said in a statement what the Israeli occupation allows to enter through the crossings of flour and food supplies, is not enough to cover the civilians’ needs.
It explained this matter has caused a severe crisis in the Gaza Strip, especially in obtaining bread, leading to the closure of most bakeries in the southern Gaza Strip.
The statement indicated that more than two million displaced people in the Strip are besieged by hunger, thirst, disease and fear, and obtaining meals has become an impossible task for families.
It called for the crossings to be fully opened and for the population to be allowed to enter in order to stop the famine that has caused the exacerbation of malnutrition and the spread of various diseases.
The Israeli occupation has been continuing its aggressive war on the Gaza Strip for the 415th consecutive day, leaving thousands of martyrs, wounded and missing, as well as massive destruction and expanding famine.
