SYRIA, Nov. 20 (YPA) – Israeli occupation aircraft launched on Wednesday raids on residential buildings in the city of Palmyra, central Syria, causing explosions in the area.
Syrian state television said that an Israeli attack targeted the city of Palmyra this afternoon, and that initial information indicates that residential buildings were targeted, but it did not mention any casualties.
The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that explosions were heard on Wednesday in the vicinity of the city of Palmyra in Homs Governorate, resulting from an Israeli aggression that targeted residential buildings and the industrial city there.
Since the beginning of 2011, the Israeli enemy has launched hundreds of air strikes in Syria, targeting government forces’ sites.
The pace of Israeli attacks on Syria has increased in recent weeks, with the escalation of the Israeli war on Lebanon since September 23.
Israel has recently targeted points near the border crossings linking Syria and Lebanon and has repeatedly targeted residential buildings in a number of areas, including Damascus and Homs, especially the Qusayr area on the border with Lebanon.
