Dozens of citizens in Mayfa’a district decry land confiscation by pro-UAE authorities

SHABWA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Dozens of citizens in the Mayfa’a district of Shabwa Governorate took part in a large protest on Monday, against the forcible confiscation of their lands by pro-UAE authorities  .

The protesters assembled outside the local government building in Mayfa’a, chanting slogans against the “Khurma Plan,” which they deemed a “destructive scheme” that jeopardizes their land ownership rights in Azan without any compensation.

They emphasized that the authorities are attempting to implement the plan by force, disregarding the legal procedures that protect landowners’ rights.

The residents warned that this move could lead to severe repercussions, which could escalate tensions and spark conflicts.

The citizens called on the authorities to abandon the plan and engage in negotiations regarding their rights and properties, which were seized without prior notice or any attempt at dialogue.

They described this as a blatant violation of their legal rights.
