Deterioration of living conditions sparks angry protests in Abyan

ADEN, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Angry protests are organized for the second straight week in the southern Yemeni provinces due to the deterioration of living conditions.

In the protests, dozens of participants in Al-Mahfad district of Abyan blamed the coalition-backed Aden government the deterioration of living conditions because of the collapse of local currency and the dollar, which equals 2049 YR.

The protesters toured the main street in Al-Mahfad Market, chanting slogans demanding the improvement of the economic and living conditions of citizens.

Citizens in southern Yemen live in difficult economic conditions, as securing a living has become extremely difficult in light of the inability to buy basic needs, exorbitant prices, policies of impoverishment, starvation, and successive deadly price increases, in addition to security chaos fueled and pushed by the coalition and its tools.

Observers believe that this disobedience is the result of increasing economic pressures on families, and the limited options become more difficult, and the failure of the concerned authorities to develop immediate solutions to alleviate these critical conditions.
