‘We get deeply concerned about Israeli operation in Gaza’: Ramaphosa

KAZAN, Oct. 24 (YPA) – South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, confirmed on Thursday that his country expresses deep concern over the military operations that Israeli occupation’s carrying out in the Gaza Strip.

Ramaphosa described these operations in the Strip as genocide.

This came in a speech he gave during the BRICS Plus summit held in Kazan, where Ramaphosa said that what is happening in the Gaza Strip has prompted South Africa to resort to the International Court of Justice to stop the killing of innocent women and children.

“The world cannot remain silent about Israeli violations in Gaza,” he explained, stressing the importance of international action to confront these practices.

The International Court of Justice had issued an order on May 24 to the occupation to stop its military operations in the Rafah area, and also demanded that the necessary measures be taken to ensure the entry of missions to investigate of genocide into Gaza.
