Borrell calls for enabling media, international observers to access northern Gaza

WORLD, Oct. 22 (YPA) -The European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, Tuesday called for the immediate access for international observers and media to the Northern Gaza Strip.

“International observers and media must be granted access,” he said in a post on his X platform account.

“After days of military action, the reports on Northern Gaza are horrifying,” he said while stressing that “the human suffering from manmade famine and forced displacement cannot be justified.”

“There is no justification for the humanitarian suffering caused by famine and forced displacement brought about by human actions,” he added.

Borrell reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to northern Gaza and safe passage for displaced persons.

He also condemned the Israeli heavy shelling and destruction of facilities of the UN Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
