SANAA, Oct. 09 (YPA) – The United Nations warned, on Wednesday, that the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon is worsening in light of the Israeli attack.
“Conditions are deteriorating at an alarming rate, and the ongoing bombing is exacerbating the suffering of the vulnerable population,” the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said.
The office pointed out that the capital Beirut was subjected to more than 30 air strikes last Sunday alone, which terrifies the population and forces further displacement from densely populated areas.
UN reports indicate that more than 600,000 people have been displaced within Lebanon since October 7, 2023, while 80 percent of the 978 collective shelters are already full.
In addition, data from the United Nations Children’s Fund showed that about 350,000 children were displaced during the conflict in Lebanon.
