Shocking figures reveal effects of aggression on education in Gaza Strip

GAZA, Oct. 04 (YPA) – The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Gaza Strip issued on Thursday a report monitoring the impact of the Israeli occupation aggression on the education sector during the past year.

The ministry stated that the occupation prevented more than 650,000 male and female students from attending their schools for the second academic year in a row and prevented about 100,000 male and female students from continuing their studies in higher education institutions.

The report indicated that about 35,000 children in kindergarten were deprived of their right to education due to the deteriorating conditions.

It also revealed that 11,600 school-age children have been killed since the beginning of the war, in addition to 750 teachers and educational and administrative employees.

In higher education, 1,100 students, along with 130 scholars, academics, and university professors, were martyred, reflecting a significant impact on the academic and educational community in Gaza.
