BEIRUT, Sept. 24 (YPA) – Israeli occupation aircraft renewed on Tuesday their raids on various areas of Lebanon after a day of heavy raids that killed 558 people, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
On the other hand, Hezbollah targeted Israeli military sites with “Fadi 1” and “Fadi 2” missiles.
Al-Jazeera’s correspondent stated that Israeli raids targeted today, Tuesday, the city of Baalbek and the towns of Ain Bordai, Budai, Taria, and Durrus in the Bekaa, eastern Lebanon, in addition to the town of Aita al-Shaab and the city of Tire in the south.
The Israeli raids also targeted the towns of Ramia, Ain Baal, Ramadiyya, and Jemijmeh in southern Lebanon.
Beirut Airport announced the cancellation of more than 30 flights to and from Beirut today, Tuesday.
Israeli occupation aircraft have carried out hundreds of air strikes on southern and eastern Lebanon since Monday morning, and its spokesman said that this attack was considered a “preemptive strike” after monitoring Hezbollah movements to target Israel.
Lebanese Health Minister Firas Al-Abyad announced on Tuesday that 558 people, including 50 children and 94 women, were killed and 1,835 others wounded as a result of the Israeli raids on southern and eastern Lebanon since yesterday morning.
In a tally announced on Monday evening, the Israeli occupation army said that it attacked 1,300 Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon, noting that it carried out more than 650 attack sorties within 24 hours.
Israeli Channel 12 quoted a senior official as saying that the “army” dropped two thousand shells on Lebanon yesterday.
On the other hand, Hezbollah said in statements today that it bombed the Megiddo Military Airport, west of the city of Afula, northern Israel, three times in a row, with “Fadi 1” and “Fadi 2” missiles.
This is the first bombing of Megiddo Airport by Hezbollah during the current confrontations with Israel that have been going on for about a year.
Hezbollah announced the bombing of the explosive materials factory in the Zikhron area, which is 60 kilometers away from the border, and the Amos base, which is the main base for transportation and logistical support for the northern region of the Israeli army.
It also targeted the Ramat David base and airport, southeast of Haifa, which is the largest base in the northern region and one of the three main air bases in Israel, and occupies a strategic location near the Israeli confrontation lines with Lebanon, Syria, and the West Bank.
Hezbollah also targeted the logistical warehouses of the 146th Division at Naftali base with a missile salvo.
Israeli media reported that 100 missiles were launched from southern Lebanon towards Israel during the past hours and confirmed that Kiryat Shmona was targeted with about 50 missiles that caused fires to break out in various locations.
