UNIFIL: Further escalation in Lebanon could have “devastating consequences”

BEIRUT, Sept. 23 (YPA) – The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) confirmed that any further escalation of the dangerous situation in southern Lebanon could have far-reaching and devastating consequences.

UNIFIL stressed in a statement that “Resolution 1701, issued by the United Nations, is now more important than ever to address the underlying causes of the conflict and ensure lasting stability in the region.”
