Sanaa welcomes Egypt’s refusal to engage in US security arrangements in Red Sea

SANAA, Sept. 22 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sanaa welcomed on Saturday Egypt’s confirmation of its rejection of the Yemeni crisis being a gateway to the involvement of countries not on the Red Sea’s shores in the security arrangements related to it.

This is what was confirmed by Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aty during his recent visit to the United States of America.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman in Sanaa, Ambassador Waheed Al-Shami, confirmed in a statement that this position reflects the strategic view of the political leadership in the Arab Republic of Egypt in dealing with the issue of navigation in the Red Sea and its national security.

Al-Shami stressed the keenness of the Republic of Yemen to protect navigation in the Red Sea and the importance of cooperation between the coastal states in this important file in a way that achieves security for the Red Sea and the rights of these states in the economic field away from any foreign interference.

He explained that the escalation of tension in the Red Sea is the result of American arrogance and a number of Western countries and their absolute bias in favor of the Zionist enemy, despite the genocidal crimes it is carrying out against the people of Gaza.

These countries rejected the just Sanaa equation of stopping the war and allowing food and medicine to enter the Gaza Strip in exchange for stopping the siege on the usurping entity through targeting cargo ships heading to occupied Palestinian ports, Al-Shami added.

Al-Shami expressed his appreciation to the countries bordering the Red Sea for their refusal to participate in the American aggressive buildup on Yemen and their understanding of the reasons for the Yemeni decision.
