Israeli occupation forces demolish 37 homes, commercial facilities in Silwan

WEST BANK, Sept. 16 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation municipality crews in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) were notified on Monday of the demolition of 37 homes and commercial facilities in the town of Silwan, south of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Al-Quds Governorate reported that the occupation authorities notified citizens of the demolition of 37 homes and commercial facilities in the neighborhoods of Silwan as part of the occupation municipality’s Judaization plan for constructing a settlement street (the American Street).

The number of demolition operations in the Al-Quds Governorate from the first of this September until September 8 reached 307 demolition and bulldozing operations.

The occupation authorities generally justify the demolition of homes under the pretext of erecting them without a license, although it is rare to grant approval for the necessary licenses to build homes for Jerusalemites (Al-Quds residents).
