ADEN, Sept. 13 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has threatened to expel dozens of women and children, (the families of deceased soldiers in the STC factions), from their homes onto the streets of Aden.
These families lost their loved ones in service to the STC over the past years.
Residents of the Al-Salam neighborhood in Khormaksar condemned, during a protest held last night, Thursday, the threats made by Khamis Al-Halimi, the commander of the “Land Protection Unit,” to remove the families of the deceased from their residences in the Social Insurance Building, leaving them homeless.
The protesters confirmed that Al-Halimi has given these families a deadline until the coming Sunday, with threats to force them into the street to make way for one of his associates to develop his own investment project on the site.
The families of the fallen soldiers have issued appeals for solutions and alternatives, lamenting that after their sacrifices with the STC’s factions over the years, their reward is to be cast out onto the streets.
