Rabbi praises soldiers accused of sexually abusing Palestinian prisoner

AL QUDS, Sept. 07 (YPA) – Rabbi Meir Mazuz, a powerful figure in Israeli politics, praised Israeli soldiers accused of sexually assaulting a Palestinian prisoner.

He expressed his support and blessing for those soldiers, saying they should have been “honored” rather than arrested.

Hebrew Broadcasting Authority said that Rabbi Mazuz recently has met with soldiers who served in the notorious Sde Teiman prison in the Negev desert, and were accused of sexually assaulting the prisoner from the Gaza Strip there.

“The rabbi was seen blessing one of the suspected soldiers,” the Authority added.

In a video broadcast by the authority and circulated on social media, Rabbi Mazuz told the accused soldier: “You will be completely acquitted. What did you do? You hit the enemy, so what? Everything is fine. In any other country they would have given you awards.”
