WORLD, Sept. 047 (TYPA)- Thousands of protesters gathered in various areas of Manhattan in New York City on Labor Day, Monday, to demonstrate against the bloody Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and expressing solidarity with Palestine.
The march started from Union Square and traversed Manhattan.
Protesters from across the tri-state area gathered at Union Square around noon.
Many demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and the flag of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) while chanting “Free Palestine.”
They called on the United States to halt funding to the Israeli entity.
Eyewitnesses reported that the city police attempted to stop the peaceful march, and arrested several protesters.
