Commercial ships attacked near Yemen coasts: UKMTO

SANAA, Sept. 02 (YPA) – The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) and the maritime security firm, Ambrey, announced that two ships have been attacked near the Yemeni coast since this morning.

The maritime security company, Ambry, stated on Monday that it had received reports of incidents that occurred a Panama-flagged oil tanker was hit by two missiles. The tanker attack took place some 70 nautical miles northwest of Yemen’s port of Al-Salif of Hodeida province, west Yemen.

In another statement, Ambry reported that a drone targeted a commercial vessel 50 nautical miles on the same province, noting that the ship was only 3 nautical miles from the last observed location of another ship that was attacked earlier today.

These attacks come two days after Sanaa-based Yemeni armed forces announced targeting the ship “Groton” in the Gulf of Aden, for the second time, after it violated the decision to ban entry to Israeli ports, in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
