Axios: The Red Sea is currently free from US Navy vessels

WORLD, Aug. 29 (YPA) -The Red Sea is currently free from US Navy vessels, according to the American website “Axios”.

Axios published a map showing the distribution of American naval assets in Western Asia, which indicates no US ships are present in the Red Sea at this time.

The map details the presence of 18 American naval units elsewhere: in the Gulf of Oman, there are currently two aircraft carriers and eight destroyers, while in the Mediterranean, there is a submarine, three destroyers, and three amphibious ships. Notably, there are no ships, destroyers, or submarines in the Red Sea.

The Commander of the American Red Sea Fleet, Admiral Mark Meigs, stated yesterday that American leadership has rejected proposals for increased strikes on Yemen due to concerns about potential Iranian retaliation.

This comes amid the absence of US naval presence in the Red Sea.

Foreign Policy magazine previously reported that despite several months of intense Western naval operations, efforts to stop attacks from Yemen in the Red Sea were unsuccessful
