HODEIDA, Aug. 09 (YPA)- The Executive Mine Action Center (YEMAC), has renewed its warning to residents in Hodeida governorate and other areas to avoid approaching landmines, cluster bombs, and war remnants swept by floods to various locations.
In a statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the center emphasized that these remnants, swept away from contaminated sites to residential and agricultural areas, pose an additional threat to civilians amid the continued heavy rains and floods in Hodeida and other provinces in recent hours.
The center urged farmers, shepherds, and those in areas near populated regions in Hodeida to avoid tampering with these remnants.
“If any strange objects swept by floods are found, they should report them to the center’s operations via WhatsApp at (777666519) or call (01835882),” the center said.
The statement also noted that the center’s teams are continuously coordinating with other agencies to protect residents in all affected areas.
