SANAA, Aug. 06 (YPA) – The Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC), referred 17 defendants to the specialized Public Funds Prosecution for further legal action and to raise criminal charges before the Public Funds Court.
This came after the SNACC held a meeting to discuss the results of the investigation into a number of serious corruption cases.
The total damage in these cases amounted to 1,856,364,732 Yemeni riyals, $2,526,336 and 32,124,682 Saudi Riyals.
The Authority has taken measures to seize the assets of the accused individuals domestically, track smuggled funds abroad, and pursue fleeing suspects to ensure the recovery of funds once legal judgments are issued.
It has also directed the ongoing investigation into tax and customs evasion as well as the pursuit of fugitives connected to one of the aforementioned cases.
