SANAA, July 28 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Minister of Transport declared on Sunday the opening of new destinations for Yemenis to travel to several countries by Sanaa International Airport.
“Sanaa is currently making arrangements as a first stage to open new destinations, starting with Muscat, Jeddah, Addis Ababa and Istanbul,” Al-Durra said in a news statement.
He explained: “As part of the Ministry’s plan, work is being done to restore all destinations from Sanaa International Airport that were there before the Saudi-Emirati aggression.”
In turn, Khaled Al-Shaif, Director of Sanaa International Airport, reported that flights from Sanaa Airport to Cairo and India will resume, starting on Sunday evening.
“In completion of what was agreed upon regarding operating flights from Sanaa Airport to the agreed destinations,” Al-Shaif said in a post on X. “It is scheduled to resume flights to the destinations of Cairo and India starting tonight after the Jordan destination.”
On the other hand, Yemenia Airlines Administration in Sanaa announced earlier in the day opening of civilian flights to Cairo and India via Sanaa International Airport starting this evening.
Yemenia affirmed in a statement that flights from Sanaa to Cairo and back have been scheduled at a rate of one flight per day.
The statement stated that the Sana’a-India destination and the return have been scheduled at a rate of two flights per week, indicating that the opening of the Cairo and India destinations come to implement the agreement being recently reached between Sanaa and Riyadh.
The statement called on citizens wishing to travel to Cairo and India to go to book through Yemenia offices and travel agencies in Sana’a starting today, explaining that flights to Cairo and India via Sanaa Airport will start today’s evening.
