Yemeni aviation expert killed after Nepal plane crash

KATHMANDU, July 24 (YPA) – A Yemeni aviation expert was killed on Wednesday after a small Nepalese plane had crashed in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu.

Media sources said the Yemeni expert, Arif Reda, is one of the experts in the field of aviation and previously worked for Yemenia and Saeeda Airlines, was killed along with 17 others in the accident.

The Nepalese police stated that all 19 people on board the plane were the company employees.
The sources affirmed that one person survived shortly after Saurya Airlines Aircraft took off from Tribhuvan International Airport’s runway, the aircraft veered off to the right and crashed on the east side of the runway.

The Nepalese Civil Aviation Authority noted that the plane crashed while taking off from Kathmandu to the city of Pokhara, indicating that the plane was on its way to perform technical maintenance.
