KHARDUM, July 24 (YPA) – Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF), announced that his forces would participate in US-mediated talks starting on August 14 in Switzerland to achieve a “comprehensive ceasefire in the country.”
Dagalo stated: “We reaffirm our firm position… which is the insistence on saving lives, halting the fighting, and paving the way for a peaceful political negotiation that restores the country to civilian rule and the path of democratic transition.”
In May, Sudanese Vice President of the Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, condemned US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s call to return to the “Jeddah” for negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces.
