HADRAMOUT, July 21 (YPA) – A Yemeni expatriate was injured by bandits’ bullets on the Al-Abr road linking Yemen to the border Al-Wadiah crossing in Hadramout province, which is under the control of factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in eastern Yemen.
Informed sources reported that the Yemeni expatriate, Moath Khaled Al-Hajj bin Laksar, from Shabwa province, was subjected to heavy gunfire yesterday (Saturday) by an armed banditry gang believed to belong to the coalition-backed factions, who tried to plunder his property on the Al-Abr road after he left in his car from the Al-Wadiah crossing.
Bin Laksar was injured in the accident, and his car was damaged by bullets from the gunmen, who looted approximately 12,000 Saudi riyals and other possessions and fled to their camps.
There are frequent banditry incidents targeting expatriates returning to their families after years of expatriation in Saudi Arabia, as well as the looting of their property on the Al-Abr road, which is controlled by factions loyal to the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
