Russia’s FM: Security Council resolutions on Gaza remained “ink on paper”
NEW YORK, July 18 (YPA) – The President of the UN Security Council, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, has stated that all the recent decisions taken by the Council on the Palestinian issue have so far remained merely “ink on paper.”
Speaking at a council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue, Lavrov stressed that “the most acute and urgent problem today is, of course, the Palestinian issue.”
He noted that for the fourth time in ten months, the Security Council held a meeting at the invitation of ministers, and four decisions were taken.
“However, the ongoing bloodshed in the occupied Palestinian territories confirms that all these decisions remained dead letters,” he added.
