Israeli occupation forces confiscate 40,000 dunams in West Bank within six months

WEST BANK, July 17 (YPA) – Institutions concerned with settlement affairs said that since the beginning of this year, the Israeli occupation authorities have seized about 40,000 dunams of citizens’ lands in the West Bank.

The institutions explained during a press conference on Wednesday that 24,000 dunums of land seized by the occupation were declared “state land,” the largest land seizure in more than 30 years under this name.

They pointed out that the occupation authorities systematically targeted natural reserves to seize a total of more than 15,000 dunums as part of the expropriation and seizure.

The occupation authorities established 20 new colonial outposts, submitted more than 19,000 new colonial units for study, converted 11 outposts into a colony, and granted new powers to intensify demolition operations in areas classified as “B” and “C.”

The occupation displaced 26 Bedouin communities and carried out more than 1,300 attacks and 23 holocausts in villages and towns. It also presented the Knesset with a set of racist laws for the purpose of controlling the Jordan Valley, the settlements in the southern West Bank, archaeological sites, and the return of colonialism to the northern West Bank.

The occupation no longer targets areas classified as “C”; rather, the measures have been extended to areas classified as “B” and seeks to systematically besiege Palestinian construction and natural growth.
