Mauritanian tribes collect cash aid to support Gaza

NOUAKCHOTT, July 15 (YPA) – About 12 Mauritanian tribes announced on Monday that they had collected almost $10 million in aid as part of the campaign they launched to support the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip.

“Although development indicators do not place Mauritania at the forefront in the Arab and Islamic world and always classify among the poor countries, it ranks high in terms of cash donations to Gaza and its people since the beginning of the attacks. Sheikh Ahmed Hassan bin Hiran Al-Hassani, the representative of the Mauritanian Tribal Coordination Committee, said.

“Mauritania occupies third place, after countries with official and popular wealth, in indicators of support for the resistance, but in terms of the quality of support and the efficiency of tribal competition, Mauritania occupies first place,” Sheikh Hiran Al-Hassani sated.

Al-Hassani stressed that the tribal coordination initiative in Mauritania is a model that can be applied in more than one Arab country, calling on countries that still have a tribal structure to follow the method of fundraising, like the tribes in Mauritania.
