Member of UAE-backed factions killed in Abyan

ABYAN, July 14 (YPA) – An armed attack targeting a military truck in Abyan province, southern Yemen, killed one member of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions and injured many others.

Local sources in the province reported that unidentified gunmen believed to belong to Al-Qaeda members targeted a military vehicle belonging to the “Sixth Brigade” factions yesterday evening, Saturday, with an explosive device in the Al-Baqira area in Wadi Omran in Modiyah District.

As a result, a young recruit who was brought from Dhalea province, named Iyad Saeed Al-Maqra’i Al-Dhalie, was killed, and two others were injured, according to the sources.

The STC factions in Modiyah have been attacked by explosive devices, killing hundreds of members, including leaders, since they declared Operation “Siham Al-Sharq” to conquer the Islah Party camps in Abyan in mid-August 2022.
