SHABWA, July 11 (YPA) – Two brothers were killed and another wounded in the UAE-backed “Transitional Council” factions in a surprise attack that targeted their positions in al-Saaid district, south of the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa governorate, eastern Yemen, media sources loyal to coalition reported.
The Shabwa defense factions were subjected to a double attack using mortar shells and explosive devices in the Al-Musaina area of al-Saaid district, which resulted in the killing of two brothers Saleh and Muhammad Al-Ahmadi, in addition to wounding Amin Sharaf seriously.
The sources added that unidentified gunmen, believed to belong to Al-Qaeda, attacked the sites of the Al-Qalaa camp in the “First Shabwa Defense Brigade” with a number of mortar shells and RPGs during the early hours of Thursday, from several directions and fled to an unknown destination.
It was reported that Al-Qaeda members set up ambushes with explosive devices entangled with each other on the way of their withdrawal, causing losses to the defense of Shabwa militants during the operation to chase the terrorist elements.
For its part, pro-transitional media revealed that 4 terrorist elements were killed and others injured, without mentioning their number or revealing their identity or party who is behind the attack.
