Aden security accuses UAE-funded leaders of kidnapping air defense commander

ADEN, July 03 (YPA) – Aden Security Administration, which is  under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, accused leaders of UAE-funded factions on Wednesday of being behind the kidnapping and disappearance of Major Ali Ashhal Al-Jaidani, a battalion commander in the Air Defense Forces from Abyan province since mid-June last year.

The Aden Security Administration affirmed in a statement that it had released the accused of kidnapping and hiding Al-Jaidani, known as Sameeh Aidaroos Al-Norji, under the guarantee of the so-called “counter-terrorism commander” funded by the UAE in Aden, Yasseran Al-Maqtri.

The statement emphasized Aden Security’s commitment to following up on the kidnapping case of Al-Jaidani and apprehending those involved in the incident.

Human rights activists on social media criticized the security statement, which confirmed the release of the main accused in the kidnapping without locating Al-Jaidani or knowing his whereabouts since last June.

They demanded information about Al-Jaidani’s fate and held Al-Maqtri fully responsible for his life.

It is worth mentioning that the leader Al-Maqtri, who released the accused on bail, demanded a three-day deadline to bring Al-Norji to Aden Security, claiming that the latter’s phone was switched off, amid reports that he had left Aden for a location outside Yemen.

Earlier today, the head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, left Aden for his residence in the UAE without addressing the demands of Abyan tribes. This prompted them to block the international road connecting Aden to eastern Yemen, preventing fuel tankers and military vehicles belonging to the STC from passing through their territories.
