Iran announces arrest of spy linked to “Mossad”

TEHRAN, June 06 (YPA) – Iranian television said on Thursday that the intelligence service caught a person spying for the Israeli Mossad in the city of Ardabil, northwest of the country.

The television said that the person who was arrested came to the city of Ardabil from southern Iran and indicated that he had communicated with “high-ranking officials in Israeli intelligence” via social media platforms.

According to the television, the detainee “collected sensitive data” for the Mossad, and after surveillance, he was arrested on instructions from the Public Prosecution.

Last April, the Iranian authorities executed a person they said was an Israeli Mossad agent, accusing him of planning to blow up a military factory in the country.

This was preceded by the Iranian authorities’ announcement last February of the detection of dozens of “spies and terrorists” linked to the Mossad in 28 countries.
