ADEN, June 03 (YPA) – The head of “the Southern Civil Forces Gathering,” Abdulkarim Al-Saadi, has confirmed that the living conditions of citizens in Aden and other southern provinces have deteriorated to an unbearable state.
Al-Saadi explained that those responsible for the catastrophic economic collapse continue to lie and fail, exploiting the citizens’ suffering in an unethical and reprehensible manner without taking any measures to alleviate the situation in Aden and the south.
He emphasized the necessity to address corruption and corrupt individuals within the so-called “presidential Leadership Council and government” loyal to Saudi-led coalition.
In a series of posts on his “X” account, Al-Saadi stated that “economic solutions cannot be achieved through political decisions aimed at pressuring the Houthis or others to accept settlements and achieve gains for groups and militias,” referring to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).
Al-Saadi added, “These decisions collapse as soon as this party succumbs to pressure.”
“The economic successes require practical economic measures based on scientific principles. The first and most important step is to bolster the central bank’s treasury with financial support in hard currencies that align with the depth of the financial, banking, and economic crisis in the southern provinces, which are under the control of coalition.”
He noted that withdrawing the old legal currency and selectively dealing with certain banks over others will ultimately and primarily harm the citizens in both the north and the south unless accompanied by other measures, such as providing the Aden bank with an appropriate cover of hard currencies.
Al-Saadi also mentioned that there are ongoing conflicts and disputes over decision-making among members of the ” Presidential Leadership Council,” which needs to be liberated from external influences.
