Israeli citizens trying to smuggle 73 gold bars arrested in Istanbul

ANKARA, May 15 (YPA) – Turkey’s police at Istanbul Airport arrested on Thursday two Israeli citizens and seized 73 gold bars, each weighing one kilogram, into a baby carriage coming from Dubai.

According to the police, teams from the Investigation Bureau of the Airport Police Department had tried to smuggle 73 gold bars from Dubai to Istanbul on April 21.

The two passengers were stopped and taken to the X-ray area for physical inspection before leaving the arrival gate at the international station, the police added.

By examining the bottom of the stroller they had, a bag containing 73 gold bars was found, and an investigation was opened.
