Citizen killed by unknown gunmen in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, May 07 (YPA) – A citizen was killed in Al-Qatn District of Hadramout Province, eastern Yemen, when unknown gunmen intercepted a transport truck loaded with Qat leaves.

Local sources said that unidentified gunmen targeted a truck loaded with Qat that was on its way to the city of Sayoun, coming from Amran province, after the truck’s driver refused to stop and allow them to steal her cargo.

The sources explained that after the gunmen failed to force the truck driver to stop, they opened fire, killing one of the passengers, a young man named Essam Ahmed Hussein Muhammad Khalifa, who was 30 years old.

It is worth noting that the disruptions in the same region have increased amid the unprecedented security chaos in the Hadramout regions.
