Former FM comments on military movements in Red Sea

SANAA, April 27 (YPA) – Yemen’s former foreign minister, Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, said commented on the withdrawal of warships and military movements in the Red Sea.

He considered in a post on X these moves as a camouflage for an upcoming escalation that threatens the consensus on the political solution.

Al-Qirbi called on the UN envoy and the Security Council to read the military movements correctly to prevent any new escalation that would increase the suffering of Yemen and its people.

This comes after America and Britain sent more warships to the Red Sea as part of the so-called the US-led “Prosperity Alliance” to protect Israeli ships from Yemeni military operations in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
